Back in 2013 , Modi was branded as Rambo for carrying out a ‘fictional’ rescue operation to save Gujarati pilgrims. The media played a massive role in shaping Modi’s image.

They had already launched a massive image makeover for Modi and such stories hyped his image of being a messiah even further.

The media was responsible too for trying to whitewash the stains of 2002 and projecting Modi as a progressive nationalist leader.

The media houses fawned over Modi, who was then a CM of Gujarat. They would keep airing his views and comments about the alleged misrule of MMS government.

Journalists without doing any background work starting writing charming articles about the purported Gujarat Model and how CM Modi had transformed the state.

Meanwhile BJP SM sharpened its attack on Rahul Gandhi , they drubbed his every speech and made fun of his comments , giving him the infamous name ‘Pappu’.

India has a democratic system of electing a PM. Now, Modi ambitiously followed the US system of projecting himself as a PM candidate.

Modi sidelined BJP veteran Advani. The supporters of Modi within the BJP started referring Advani as a rancid pickle.

Nobody from the media questioned Modi about the 2002 riots, Sohrabuddin and Ishrat Jahan fake encounters , Mansi Soni snoopgate. It was as if Modi was answerable to no one.

It did not even matter that Amit Shah who was then the Home Minister of Gujarat had been jailed and also exiled from the state. Tadipaar.

Shouldn’t a simple question arise that if the HM had an alleged involvement in the fake encounter cases then how was it that a ‘capable’ CM like Modi be unaware about it?

All the projects worth thousands of crores, that Modi had launched as a CM were either incomplete or they had merely been inaugurated- no concrete work had been done.Majority of the journalists ignored that.

Every question raised against the then CM Modi was perceived as an insult to the Gujarati Asmita. Modi whined about being targeted because he was an OBC.

The same story is being repeated now, the only change is that ‘certain’ forces - anti national ones of course - are targeting PM Modi.
