Azeez Ojulari on deck today. Finished up Janarious Robinson and Daelin Hayes. Liked them both !
Azeez did a really good job vs Alabama last year. Bama threw a lot of pulling guards at him in the run game and he took them on and 3 different times made the play at or near the LOS. I think his pass rush was fantastic vs Leatherwood, even had a pressure vs Landon Dickerson.
Had consistent pressure everywhere he lined up, his counter moves leave more to be desired, but this whole game his first pitch was working so he didn't really have to go to anything else. I was way more impressed with his coverage as well. Had two PBU's too. Well rounded game.
Loved his game vs Auburn in 2020. Had 1 sack, I think two pressures, but his ability to drop into the flats and just to open up lanes for blitzing DB's was fantastic. He's just a pure football player that does everything you ask of him. His IQ stood out on screen as well.
Didn't overcommit on his rushes, took the foot off the gas and kept everything in front of him. I love disciplined EDGE.
So lot to unpack with Ojulari vs Cincinnati. When James Hudson was in at LT Ojulari did struggle, but had a nice rep on a stunt that he got held on. So the first play gets completely washed out of the play by Hudson, second play works the stunt, draws a hold.
However, Ojulari went on a murder spree when Hudson came out of the game. had 2 forced fumbles that resulted in turnovers and just completely take over the game. I think Ojulari would have had a fine game, but he was given an opportunity and took over the game.
Overall, I really liked Ojulari's film. I probably have him right next to Kwity Paye who I loved as well, two different players in terms of EDGE though, different strokes for different folks I suppose lol But for real, in a EDGE class where it's very pick and choosy at the top
I think Olgulari's film suggests he gives you the best mix of production now, and a high ceiling. I think he'll end up going from 20's to 40's range which could, in theory put ATL in play in the second. Still no EDGE I'd take in the top 10 however.
