Recently I've been into clean dieting and today, @MistressofTomes and @_Garisha_ mentioned about chronic insomniac behaviour they suffer from. And since I had the same issue and several other things before I started clean eating, I realized a lot has to do with how we eat.
First of all, we should be able to separate the good from the bad. The things that makes you drooling over and craving for, are probably not so good. Processed food, junk food, soda and beverages, deep fried food, even that jar of nutella sitting on your shelf!
Yes! They've got a lot of added ingredients your body can't hold for much longer. So, cut the shit out.
Simple as that. Start with sweets and oily food. They're just a lot of bad wrapped in a scrumptious look.

Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. Eat your fruits as whole fruits rather than juicing them. Reduce the carbs. But I do not recommend strict dieting or cutting out macro nutrients. You need your macro. So! Try to balance them. Start with plate rule.
Cut your sugar intake. Swap with natural sweeteners like dates, raisins and honey. Even date syrup or maple syrup. Try not to eat fruits and sugary stuff during night. Fruits as in banana, mango, papaya etc. You know, carbs-rich fruits. Mushy stuff.
Green apples get a pass

Try setting times for your breakfast, lunch and dinner. Have a snack time if you want to. Fill it with healthy snacks. Most importantly take your breakfast within one hour after you wake up. Take your dinner at least two hours before bed. I
If you drink tea or coffee between your meals, keep a two hours gap. Two hours before or after a meal. Avoid drinking tea at night. Drink water at leat 1/2 hour after a meal. Avoid milk powder. That shit ain't no good at all. Swap with fresh milk.
Healthy snacks like nuts, dates, raisins and berries work wonders. They're filling and they're healthy. Drink enough water. 2.5-3 litres will do. Do not drink excess water.
Increase your activity level. That distance you pay 150/= to your Uber driver, walk it. You'll save money and you will burn calories. You don't have to hit the gym to stay healthy.
Try to make stuff at home. Especially nut spreads, mayo, tomato ketchup etc. They're easy.
Try detoxing your body. Lemon, mint, ginger work best. Just add a slice of lemon and a little bit of mint and ginger to your water bottle and drink all day.

We have taken excess amount of toxins throughout the years. It takes some time to our body to wash them out. And once done, you will feel the difference.
It's the little things that makes all the difference.
