Science does not necessarily support the detention of humans; what it supports is quarantine, and its enforcement. Detaining a person who is scientifically confirmed Covid-Negative and did not break isolation, is arbitrary. https://bit.ly/3aHLMyh
The response to enforce Hotel Quarantine is also disproportionate, given that per @GovCanHealth 's admitted numbers, travel transmission is below 2%.
Moreover, @GovCanHealth indicates that home quarantine is, overall, followed by incoming travellers.

@cancivlib have openly said that there is lack of transparency regarding the measure to be implemented; health and compassionate travellers and their families' dignity would be in danger, given #HotelQuarantine associated costs . https://bit.ly/3pZFRLq
Similar to this, @PattyHajdu has not been able to confirm to @MichelleRempel that family reunification/compassionate travel will be exempt from the measure. This jeopardizes the dignity of binational families. https://twitter.com/MichelleRempel/status/1357824691210121216
Also, with @JustinTrudeau, @fordnation & @francoislegault 's insistence on Spring Break, the measure must be temporary - such assurances must be given to Canadians. An indefinite measure would be unreasonable. https://bit.ly/3jvFPZd
Finally, putting a price tag on entering's one own country jeopardizes their right to return. Thousands of #StrandedAussies have yet to make it home because @ScottMorrisonMP has yet to find a mechanism to allow his constituents to return home. Unacceptable.
