Abu Yusuf was a known, hard critic of #HTS -- its ties to #Turkey, openness to dialogue, enforcement of #Idlib's ceasefire etc.

His departure from Huras al-Din (I'm told) took place after #HTS's assault on HaD in mid-'20. He was perceived as a Trojan horse, seeking to turn #TIP. https://twitter.com/Charles_Lister/status/1358785199321083904
Another #AlQaeda loyalist was assassinated in #Idlib today -- Abdulrahman al-Uzbeki.

He was a loyal associate of Sirajideen Makhtarov (Abu Saloh al-Uzbeki), who #HTS detained in June amid rumors that he may be handed over to #Turkey to deport to #Russia, where he's wanted.
#pt: That's the 3rd #AlQaeda loyalist killed in #Idlib in 8 days -- the 1st being Abu Dujana al-Daghestani, who was killed by #HTS-linked "General Security" personnel in al-Dana on Feb 1.

He'd been blamed for trying to kill Salvation Govt Awqaf chief, Ibrahim Shasho on Jan 4.
