1/ So we've been on mockdown for about a month and have seen numbers come down and somewhat stall. During the month there has been no increase in PPE for frontline workers, no increase in TTI capacity and nothing done for schools. We need numbers much lower for upcoming vaccine
2/ campaigns. We still cannot sequence enough for the variants and they will soon be the dominant infections in Ontario. Our ICUs are still above capacity and and teetering on a knife edge and Ford is now ready to re-open the limited things that were closed.
3/ Opening schools combined with the variants gaining traction would, by themselves, be enough for a third surge. Add in malls, bars, restaurants, gyms etc. and we are headed right back into huge case counts hospitalizations, deaths
4/ and an eventual third mockdown forced upon us by the virus. With the virus on a clear escape path and our very limited access to the vaccines that still have some robust efficacy, we must limit all transmission until our supply improves.
This is the only way out.

5/ Data from countries hard hit by the variants show that a continuing hard lockdown will still reduce the transmission of the *known* variants.
The UK is talking about keeping lockdowns until all people over 50 have been vaccinated and

6/ Ford wants to open when we haven't jabbed all LTC and retirement homes* yet
