Klopp is undoubtedly a world class manager. He's won the Champions League, the Premier League, two Bundesliga titles and a DFB-Pokal with sides that weren't considered anywhere near the top teams in their country when he took over
However, can he be a long-term manager for a club striving for success?
First let's look at Mainz. He was appointed manager upon retirement as a Mainz player in 2001, and achieved promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in many years in 2003/04

He finished 11th in his first season in the Bundesliga, and then the next season he qualified for the UEFA Cup. Definitely a remarkable achievement
But the following season they were relegated. From European football back to the 2nd division. But why?

Klopp's intense pressing wore the players out. The team was heavily fatigued, which therefore increased the risk of injury, meaning they couldn't play at the standards they set in the previous seasons
After relegation, Klopp also failed to get them back into the Bundesliga

Klopp eventually joined a mediocre Dortmund side in 2008
He finished 6th in his first season compared to 13th the season prior to that, and then won back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 whilst getting to the Champions League Final

After 2012 they started to regress with two consecutive 2nd place finishes and no major silverware. Klopp still had them playing his usual style though
However in 2014/15, things started to change. The squad was increasingly fatigued and plagued with injuries

They finished 7th that season, their lowest in 7 years. Klopp's pressing once again burnt-out the team, and after his departure that season they finished 2nd
The same happened with Mainz too, who were promoted the season after Klopp left

It's no secret Liverpool were a shadow of their former selves when Klopp took over. Transforming a mediocre team into English, European and World Champions is nothing short of remarkable. But let's look at their injuries
Injuries have been rife in the Liverpool squad this season. Almost everyone has been injured at one point, with their best player set to miss the entire season
Is it purely coincidence? Or has Klopp's approach to the game taken its toll?

Liverpool are on 40 points after 23 games this season. Last season they had 67 points at the same stage
TWENTY SEVEN points worse off
That's the equivalent of 9 fewer wins

I respect Klopp's achievements massively, but I don't think he has any longevity
He'll give his teams one or two extremely successful seasons, but his style of play isn't sustainable
