The non traumatized largely operate according to the Pollyanna Principle. History is remembered with gladness — and so the future.

For the traumatized, the Pollyanna Principle is poisoned.

Non traumatized folks view life as fundamentally safe — the traumatized as unsafe.
This may be helpful to keep in mind when having dialogue with either party. The traumatized can’t fathom how the non traumatized can be so cavalier — the non traumatized can’t even being to comprehend the terror of trauma.
The truth lies in the middle of the two perspectives.

We live in a traumatized society where much that we appreciate as safety and control is easily/often overwhelmed by trauma.

Seeing only risk is immobilizing. Seeing no risk is ridiculous.
Striking a balance is difficult.
