i'm sharing a few seldom discussed tips and perspectives on weight loss and health.

source: i lost~67 pounds and got in shape after years of battling my inner demons.

thread:
if you eat meals with your shirt off, you'll eat less.

if you walk around with your shirt off, you won't want to snack.
the smaller you are, the smaller your appetite.

don't worry about "always being hungry" when you're XX pounds lighter. as you lose fat it will literally feel like your stomach shrank.
losing weight is 10x more difficult than maintaining weight, but luckily it's a temporary challenge.

this is why skinny people can eat pizza and ice cream and be fine.

(similarly, right now **you're maintaining weight** while eating pizza, ice cream, etc.)
"Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." -- Kate Moss

this is true, but useless during the weight loss journey. temporary challenges like losing X pounds require temporary (quick) wins.

tip: consume fiber and ample water to go "number 2" in the bathroom and feel this daily.
"what gets measured, gets managed."

tracking weight loss is critical but doing so daily is a horrible idea. you'll gain 5 pounds of water weight, think "what's the F-ing point," and order a pizza.

weight in 1x at the same time every week, ideally in the AM after pooping.
i hate to share this but: ironically, other people will notice your body changes more than you.

some science i don't understand explains why, but basically you see your body all day. eventually you literally won't spot progress.

so you can't trust your eyes only. measure.
each of us find it easier to either work out (addition), or restrict eating (subtraction).

don't try to overcompensate the lesser skill, e.g. diet, with the other (more gym time).

realize that hunger pangs are literally a workout you do from your desk, effortlessly. chug water.
one more myth to bust:

losing weight and getting in great shape have NOTHING to do with natural athletic abilities or experience playing sports.

your muscles have no idea whether you can catch a ball. i'm a horrible athlete; doesn't mean i don't look like one.
mindset, not exercise gear or cheat meal strategies, is the only ingredient you need to get the body you want.

good luck!
