(Thread) The media's post-Anfield narrative is that there was a problem with Foden but now thankfully there is not. This is willful chicanery that needs calling out.
There was never a problem with Phil’s development. None whatsoever.

What’s more, everyone connected with the club and every single Blue knew this. And we told you. Many, many times.
We pointed out that Phil was getting significantly more minutes than any England legend when they were his age.
We pointed out the immense benefit of training every day with Silva and De Bruyne.

We pointed out that the youngster was City through and through and was living a dream.

It was only ever a positive story. It was only something to be celebrated (like we’ve seen so many times in the past with the emergence of a United or Liverpool prodigy).
Yet you – by which I mean many strands of the media – CHOSE to ignore all this. You CHOSE to portray it negatively. He needed to go out on loan you said (ludicrous). He needed more game-time and Pep was stymieing his development.
These were untruths you were desperate to propagate to the extent where certain commentators – Darke in particular – would spend 5 mins per game talking about them.
There was NEVER any substance to this narrative. It was wholly bullshit from start to finish.
So instead of being Trumpian about it, instead of saying ‘phew, thank goodness everything worked out well in the end’ why not hold your hands up and say you got it hopelessly wrong.
No-one will laugh at you. Who knows, you might even gain a bit of respect.

We'll even overlook the fact that you knew this trope was nonsense the whole time and you were pushing it because of an inability to gush about City. Go on, admit it. Blues can be sound if you meet us halfway.
