The entire "Jesus was" is never not annoying. I'll try to make clear my thoughts in this thread

If we were to accept the Bible narrative, as is often used to discuss him, then he was an Aramic speaking Jew, born in Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth
According to that same Bible, he is also the son of God. Even in other interrpretations, he's not exactly focused on ethnicity. He's a religious figure who focused on preaching. If he was alive today, he'd identify with those who accepted his religious message.
If we believe the Bible, then his people are Christians, regardless of ethnicities. If we believe the Quran, then his people are Muslim.

People argue "Oh he's Jewish, oh he's Palestinian". His mother was a Jew, & the descendents of his first followers are Palestinian Christians
I understand why people take pride in being of the same ethnicity as his mother, or from the same city that he was born in or grew up in. But, that was not important to him.

I'll provide another example. Prophet Muhammad PBUH was an Arab from Mecca
Being an Arab didn't matter to him, and he repeatedly told his followers that. If he was alive today, he'd feel closer to an Indonesian Muslim from several thousand miles away than he would a Christian Arab. Same with Jesus PBUH
So basically, in conclusion, pointing out connections, such as inhabiting same areas he did, or sharing an ethnicity is intersting, I don't think that is what we should be focusing on when discusing Jesus, PBUH
Was this thread coherent at all?
