What if you haven't published yet because you were making global impacts in ways other than on paper? Is publishing papers really the only way that universities determine your value? If that's true, then I'm never getting hired lol
I'm applying to these jobs and I get to the part where they're like... upload a million papers you published, and I'm like... I can tell you about the lives I've changed... that means more to me than a paper
idk y'all... I have a place in academia and teaching but these barriers and structures... will keep people like me out
I'm going to apply to these jobs and upload three identical documents as my papers and they will all say, "look at my CV, I have literally been too busy to publish but that doesn't mean I can't do this and that I won't publish eventually" 😅 I don't know what else to do
I'm still optimistic about the process, I just need to find the place and the opportunity that is for me. I have a lot to offer... and a lot of growing to do... I just have to find the right home
Really hoping that in 4-5 months from now I can look back on this moment with some sort of peace and happiness lmao
If nothing works out, I'll just have to keep making my own lane like I've been doing. And everyone will just have to try and keep up.
and that's real
