I know I probably shouldn't talk about this, but I've seen people get mad about this Big 20 and talk about how bad of a list it is. I'm not going to say any names, but as someone who helped make the list, I feel like I need to vent. (Thread)

First of all, if you don't like the list, that's totally fine, but don't base that opinion about how these games are "weird" or "too unknown" because that's literally the purpose of the Big 20, to show games that don't receive the same attention as the popular ones.

Every Big 20 except 10 and 13 was full of new games. Yes, Big 20 13 was a tremendous success, but you can't think that we're going to do the same obvious choices everytime from now on. The point is literally to show unknown games.

It feels like, everytime this was done, it was totally fine. But now that this was done right after 13, now it's bad. If instead of the 13 we got, you had this, nobody would say anything bad about it. And that's a fact.

We had only ONE WEEK to prepare all the games, all the goals, test everything out, make sure everything was doable, balance the list out, have a mix of famous and unknown games, etc, etc. Suffice to say, it was exhausting and tiring. And it hurts seeing people bash it this much.

Again, I don't care if you personally don't like the list, that's fine. But what I do care is people complaining about something that has been done for years. But since the last one was the exception, now everything has to be the same. No, it doesn't.

Think Big 20 6. How many people knew Bird Week before the event? How many people knew of Garfield before the event? Hell, how many people knew Moai Kun before the event? These were all unknown games that people actually ended up caring about. So why is it a problem now?

All I know is, a lot of people actually loved the list, which it's something I really appreaciate. But I can't stop thinking about those people that say this list is "too random" like all the others were better. Please at least respect the work we did to even HAVE a Big 20.

All I know is, we did our best, and this is, in my opinion, a great list. You don't like it? Sure! But don't tell me it's because they're not obvious guesses. That's the point.
