i see the fire is still burning in the thread

i thought it would be over by now. its a pretty simple message. but then i would have to be p fucking stupid to think this was simple

so if i cant put out the fire, i may as well throw more kindling on it https://twitter.com/ButtWarhammer/status/1357456620515688448
before i continue, i wanna define a very important word. and that word is CONTEXT

i cant stop bringing up CONTEXT every time some stupid shit happens. i just fucking love CONTEXT

here is the dictionary definition of CONTEXT
first thing to address. the comic isnt a personal attack to you if you play any of the factions. playing Dark Templars is fine. playing krieg is fine...playing nazi orks? im gonna be the devil's advocate and say that one is ambiguous but not ruled out at this point.
the CONTEXT in this regards is that these are factions that already exist within the game. they have pre-established lore, look and themes. they are MEANT to be played BY DESIGN. no one can poopoo you for playing a faction that has been DESIGNED to be played.
continuing on, you can enjoy all other things in fiction that are "bad".

you can just straight up play as nazis in games
you can play as space marines, which in FICTION are the strong arm of a fascistic galactic empire
you can nuke people unprovoked in games
you can set a old lady on fire in DnD
you can kill villagers(civilians) in most RTS games

you can do all of these things without guilt, because its fiction. its a little make belief. its an option within the set parameters of the fiction. thats the CONTEXT of it. it's fiction
again. the comic is not in criticism of playing something in fiction or the fiction itself

warhammer can and should remain however "bad" it needs to be to meet the required design/theme criteria. and the theme is p dark.

the comic is not asking for santization of the fiction.
on the same token, you can have visuals that arise from "bad" things and you dont have to feel bad about it

red black and white. sure the nazis used it. but you wouldnt say this bird shown here is a nazi. because...uhhh SURPRISE. context.

the context being...its a fucking bird
so what IS the context of the comic?

the context is that
-the person dedicated 3 whole ass armies to visually represent the army of the 3rd reich
-he is also wearing a t-shirt with a literal fasce
-"some odin shit" refers to white supremacists penchant for viking aesthetics
i'll be honest. im not 100% sure on the red suspender stuff. but that aside
-undercut hairdo

using the bigger CONTEXT of modern politics and its obsession with aesthetics, you can do that thing that the human brain does, you know. notice patterns. you combine all the info.
and you come to a pretty good conclusion as to this hypothetical person's "political" and personal standing.

and the person very clearly made a choice to make his standing very visible. an announcement

its almost as if...its an upfront statement of their...POLITICAL IDEALS.
so putting that and the first panel of the comic together

-the person's verbal statement to keep politics out
-the person's visual statement of their own politics

you put those two together, and the JOKE of the comic is that the person very hypocritical.
no shit that's the joke. but i gotta state it. because people love being facetious.
so. here is this person. this hypocritical person. showing off their army as if it is completely apolitical. dressed in a manner while being very loudly politcal. holding up a pre-established political imagery. while dictating others to stay apolitical.
basically saying "shut up while i flaunt my shit"

and its very blatant.

some sort of childish glee at "having gotten away with it" i suppose. even though a lot of people sees through that shit.
and that's it really. and the original statement of "keep politics out" cannot be abided by a lot of the people that the statement is being directed to because that usually mean just letting the ACTUAL political shit fester, unchallenged.
why the fuck would ANYONE want politics in warhammer. in hobby. they got other things they wanna do. we got enough real life politics. you want hobby space to remain pure.
but hobby exists within real life. the things from real life bleed over. politics already exist within the hobby, long before the term SJW existed. and if people dont say anything about it becos that act itself is "political", it allows the actual poltical people to thrive
