If you still call any sport “sportsball,” I hate you. this isn’t le 2012 Reddit
if you can’t see the beauty and drama in sport, that’s on you.

my view of sports vs the arts really changed dramatically a few years ago when I noticed that sportsmen and musicians both can go on strike
there are like 10,000 sports and guess what?? Some of them (cycling, gymnastics, track and field) even border on art
viscerally forcing myself to ending this thread here instead of turning it into a thread about why cycling is literature actually
wow this blew up! check out my literary as hell newsletter about professional cycling http://derailleur.substack.com
lol at some of the psychotic quote tweets this has already gotten. absolutely unhinged opinions
look, I too got bullied in gym class and was lead in theater and am queer and went to music school and write about art and culture for a living and I will tell you now that sports move people to literal tears so just admit you’re projecting and/or intellectually incurious and go
Imagine caving to fucking stereotypes like this! like you can like sports and Broadway simultaneously! there is not a fucking law!! Grow up. High school is over. expand your mind. I recommend checking out @jon_bois who is an artist among artists
Also: Critiquing the ethics of sports is another part of participating in the culture of sport for me personally so I don’t see a conflict between enjoyment and critique. Same with architecture!
real Kateheads know that I have a ruthless personal vendetta against the union cycliste internationale and every major title sponsor of professional cycling except maybe the bike-based sponsors and the Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo
anyways that’s it for me I’m muting this thread and half-watching the super bowl while I finish my very ornate painting
