My mum went to her GP because she could feel her heartbeat in her ears and her eyes felt funny. He told her to get an eye test. I then forced her to the hospital and the doctors told her that her iron levels were close to death. She had 3 blood transfusions that day
When black people go to the hospital/GP & are turned away or their symptoms minimised, they tend to not wanna go back & then face worse health issues. It took me forever to get my mum to go A&E. Do I blame her for not wanting to go? No, because they don’t listen #BlackWomenHealth
