It was a barbaric & unethical approach, but also displayed a misunderstanding of how viruses work. We're seeing new variants with reduced antibody neutralization. If the virus is afforded chances to adapt itself and escape antibody neutralization, it will gladly do so. (2/4)
Hence these next few months will be critical. Mask wearing, distancing, hygiene, ventilation, etc. are as important now as ever. The vaccines are incredible, but mass immunization campaigns are tough, and getting the general population fully protected will take time. (3/4)
So if you haven't been vaccinated, wear a mask, keep your distance, wash your hands, avoid crowded indoor areas.
