"NYT's @TaylorLorenz falsely accuses tech investor Marc Andreessen of using a slur after spending months trying to infiltrate and monitor a new app that allows free conversation":

A perfect episode illustrating how rotted this form of tattletale, speech-policing "journalism" is.
Journalists have traditionally taken the lead in defending free speech, a free press and above all free discourse. We now have the deeply unhealthy reality that corporate media employees are the leading activists demanding greater censorship and the destruction of free thought.
What if Lorenz hadn't lied and Andreessen had used the word "retarded" to discuss the Reddit Revolution. So what? Just like the incredibly corrupted "intent doesn't matter" mantra of the NYT to get Don McNeil booted, this is primitive anti-intellectualism in the extreme.
"The overarching rule of liberal media and politics is you are free to accuse anyone of any kind of bigotry that casually crosses your mind — just smear them as a racist, misogynist, transphobe, etc. without the slightest need for evidence — and it is completely acceptable." See:
Also included a small shoutout to the liberal smear artists who spent the week branding me a misogynist -- a *misogynist* - for the crime of criticizing and mocking an absurd and false statement by a powerful politician: @AOC. No mocking of politicians by journalists.
The bottom line is this: all of these scummy trends in journalism -- epitomized by the speech policing of CNN's media team, NBC's "disinformation" unit, NYT tech reporters & the lie of Taylor Lorenz -- is about silencing, intimidating and controlling. It needs & deserves scorn.
Absolutely perfect: a powerful NYT reporter outright lies about someone, refuses to retract or apologize, then locks her account, and now blocks journalists who wrote about what happened.

100% definite that, any minute, we're going to be hearing that she's the Real Victim here.
