Canada is passing a law that will mark disabled people as a special class of humans that can access state funded and administered death even if they aren't dying.

Non-disabled Canada is writing columns and giving speeches about why this is our ticket to freedom.
#BillC7
I have been declared dying so many times now it's almost lost all meaning to me.

In every case they were anxious to help speed up that process.

This was before MAID and in case it isn't obvious by this tweet, I was NOT dying. Imagine when that requirement is removed.
I was dying in 2009. No, in fact they were poisoning me. This is not my non-medical assessment, this is the assessment of the physician who treated me and watched my recovery when he managed to get me off the meds they'd been giving me (not pain meds btw so don't go there).
In 2015 I was dying. No, my disabled body was just taking longer to come back from a severe anaphylactic reaction and subsequent asthma attack.

In 2009 they tried to force me to sign DNR. In 2015 they suggested I suffocate to death. "Don't come in if your breathing gets worse"
There were other times but what is more interesting to me are the times they did NOT try to push death on me.

Like during any of the many attacks of cellulitis that turned systemic. Or when I had a pulmonary embolism PLUS cellulitis PLUS...
I lived with a partner then.
I was middle class then. I had a home. I wasn't their 'burden.' They never produced a DNR when I was septic.

Although I do remember a hospital social worker telling me that my positive attitude (not hating myself & wanting to die) was making it worse for those around me.
The shift in attitude from health care professionals from when I was thought of as a non-disabled person who was sick (not yet diagnosed) and when I became a disabled person with a condition they couldn't 'fix' could not be more dramatic.
It was like I literally woke up one morning in a dystopian society where I was less human. It took me a while to really process that the dystopian society is OUR society. It exists. It's real.
I don't give a fuck about your abled fear of being disabled which is what is at the root of #BillC7

Ableist fears of ever being one of us is what propels some to support.
Capitalist bottom line sees cost-savings & is breaking out the champagne so ofc they red carpet the bill.
Where is the media energy on disabled Canadians have a right to a vent?
Entire human history is fight to survive & for too many the right to live.
Canada's contribution is for the "right" to die even if you aren't dying.

Wtf is wrong with you?
I will not die for your greed and your myths.
And the thing is this isn't even the fight. You have the 'right' to die. This is a fight for the 'right' to have the state pay for and administer death to disabled people who are not dying. Be clear. https://twitter.com/mssinenomine/status/1358460009886085120?s=20
