THREAD ...
What is the Council investigating? We don't know.
Maybe they're investigating... that the Fund was to get $13 mill/year from a real estate tax, but it's really only $8 mill?
Or maybe how the Fund Commission met openly/publicly every month around Bmore to set priorities? ...
Or maybe how the Fund prioritized fair development --projects that are permanently affordable and community-controlled, projects that hire locally and pay just wages, and projects that advance race equity and environmental sustainability?
Or maybe how the Fund is standing up the work of at least 4 new community land trusts (CLTs) in Bmore? CLTs like @charmcityclt @BaltimoreSouth @HarborWestColl that do perm. afford, community-controlled dev that helps close the racial wealth gap and develop w/o displacement?
Or maybe how the Fund is going to help at least 80 folks who are homeless find housing through a local voucher program?
Maybe they'll investigate how there was no public outcry when the former Mayor (who shall not be named) fired the City's head of Dept. of Hous. & Comm. Dev., Mayor's Off. of Homeless Serv. and Off. of Equity and Civil Rights -- in the middle of a pandemic and eviction crisis?
We don't know what's going on
We do know this is the People's Fund
We developed it (2015)
We collected 18,000 signatures and voted for it (2016)
We pounded pavement & knocked doors to get funding (2018)
We even worked w/City on priorities (2019)
So you have our full attention
