BEWARE OF KENYAN POLITICIANS ( A THREAD)
They come to you masquerading as saviors in the same way Daenerys Targaryen claimed to be the rightful heir to the iron throne. They have no apparent manifesto. Even those who have a manifesto just have one for formality.

They have no clear plans. It’s all empty promises. They know the citizens won’t pay much attention to it anyway.
They major in divisive politics to split the people in factions. They can’t survive where there is unity because where there is unity, there is victory.

It is their victory though that they care about more. Not our victory. Altogether, they are a caucus of individuals with self-serving interests. A united country is a bad idea for most of them hence they introduce the us vs them mentality.
They make you believe that a random Ouma in Ochot Odong, Homabay doesn’t want the best for Kiplimo in Eldoret. Therefore,Ouma and Kiplimo can’t and shouldn’t vote for the same person. The same mentality is used to make you believe that you have no other alternative.
You can either go True North or True South , they say. Its not true though. You could go East, West, North East, South South West. The only hindrance stopping you from going in that direction is one. YOU.
A Kenyan politician engages in name calling to keep people’s attention on him. He’s a villain to those he insulted. To his faction, he is deemed a hero and consequently, he doesn’t have to do a damn thing for his constituents.
Of course he’s a politician. He has a serpent’s tongue. He thereby dupes them and blames all his problems on ‘the opposition’. They’re not letting him work and that’s why he hasn’t delivered yet .
‘The opposition’ in turn blames their problems on the government for not giving them enough support. They promise you better if you elect them. But guess what? It’s still lies. Most of them haven’t even delivered after being in power for years.
They’re actually lucky they’ve not been a part of the ruling government because then they’d have no excuse to give their people back home.
The reality is, time waits for no man. The politicians have been in parliament for two terms already. In those two terms they’ve delivered what they could have delivered in two years. The people are frustrated.
An year to elections, the politician comes home and builds a shed for the bodaboda guys and they cheer his name. “At least he did something worthwhile,” they say. Their spirit for excellence is gone. They are okay settling for scraps.
Anyway, “their man” is being fought by the opposition or the government. He will do better, they say. They speak of an unknown future.
All the while, to the government and the opposition, this is a game of football to them. When the transfer window is open, they easily shift sides especially when their team is not performing.
Some of them switch teams on a free transfer because they’re no longer benefiting from their current teams. Some of them have very cheap buyout clauses. Fortunately or unfortunately, some of them are too expensive.
Among them, there are those that love the club and are loyal to it. Others though, have to stay at the club they dislike so much because they have no choice. They’re all earning lump sums anyway so at the end of the day, IT’S NEVER THAT SERIOUS, IT’S JUST BUSINESS.
