So, surely when you saw the sneak peek of the upcoming episode & heard Kulkan's words that Yamaç has transformed into an insect, immediately in your mind "The Metamorphosis" popped up. If it didn't, it's ok, in this thread we will talk about it.

& then struggles to adjust to his new form & the changes that accompany it.

The theme of the book is the brutal relationship between people & an individual that experiences a change that isn’t his fault (in Yamaç's case, ruling Çukur even though he didn't want to). He gets rejected instead of receiving an emotional closeness & understanding.

Like Yamaç, Gregor often neglected himself in order to please his family.

And always never wanted to jeopardize anyone.

With the constant need to place everyone before himself.

And it's a similar case with Yamaç. Who for countless times, sacrificed himself for Çukur and that highlighted a specific aspect of his personality. An aspect that none of his family had.

Because the urge to survive in the everyday life leaves no acceptance for someone's differences.

Sensitivity and concern fade away with time, a tragedy occurs but the sad ending doesn't only bring remorse but also a relief.

And we've seen how Yamaç has taken the same path that of Samsa. He overpaid for his mistakes but also for other's mistakes (mainly, İdris's mistakes), sacrificed more than what he had to. Until Çukur drained life out of his body.

Yamaç before he returned to Çukur he had freedom. He wasn't constantly restrained, overthinking, on the edge, sleepless. He was simply living his life. But that all changed when he returned to the hell that is Çukur.

So, how did things fall for Samsa? Well, it was when his father’s business failed, he readily accepted his new role as the money-earner in the family without question, even though it meant taking a job he disliked as a traveling salesman.

And that is similar to Yamaç's situation.

He took the leadership of Çukur when Sultan traveled all the way to Paris & brought him back with her to Çukur.

Remember that Yamaç left the house a long time ago not wanting to get involved in his father's world which is Çukur.

After the transformation of Samsa into an insect

(In Yamaç's world, ruling Çukur) he didn't want to rectify his condition.

On the contrary, he quickly accepted that he has become a insect and tried to go about his life as best he can in his new condition.

And that's what happened with Yamaç. When they needed him & pulled him away from his real life, he never ever tried to turn his back on them.

And just like Samsa's transformation, he accepted his role & did the best that he can. Actually, he gave his all to Çukur.

But to accept such a heavy role (Samsa becoming an insect & Yamaç ruling Çukur) there are prices that must be paid for. Samsa's family deprived him from the things that reminded him of his former form which is being human. And they did it by taking away his furniture.

In Yamaç's case, they robbed his innocence, dreams & ambitions.

And they gave him back de*ths, blood, pain & sadness.

His life drastically changed & took a path that he never wanted.

And his family didn't care about his needs or dreams they only cared about themselves.

As time passed, it became hard for Samsa to fully adapt to his new body or to even find a new role within his family, which is disgusted by him & ashamed of his presence in the house.

Even Grete, Samsa's younger sister who has a good relationship with him, her feelings towards her brother change. From bringing him food, cleaning & checking on him to telling her parents that they must get rid of her brother Gregor Samsa.

So, just like Samsa's family, the Koçovalı after they drained Yamaç from life they wanted to get rid of him.

And so, the so-called compassion turned into cruelty.

It was easier for them to kick Yamaç out of the house rather than to hear & understand him.

And so, Samsa realizes the pain that his family are enduring because of his existence. Even though it's out of his hands.

Yet, he crawls back to his room.

Lays on the floor.

Stays motionless all night.

Takes his final breaths.

And as it is dawning, he di*s.

But here's the thing. His family were unfazed by his de*th. They didn't mourn him. The contrary they were relieved.

And so, their lives changed after his de*th. His de*th allowed them to metamorphose into what they wanted. A family with potential & purpose.

Samsa dies physically, emotionally, & socially.

Yet, Yamaç have gone through it all & is still alive.

And the only thing that is preventing him from falling into the abyssal is Efsun.

Efsun is the key for Yamaç's survival in this harsh world.
