We've kept 8 clean sheets in the PL.
We've also conceded 9 in one game, 5 in another, and 3 goals five times.
When it goes wrong, it blows up.
So the question is why...

Personal opinion.
Ralph's system works. But it requires 2 things from the players.
Complete trust and high confidence.
Because it asks defenders to go against their instincts and against everything they have been taught.

Defenders are taught from an early age - always stick with your marker. Your man is YOUR responsibility.
Ralph gives his defenders permission to leave their markers. Rush out and press the ball. Your teammate will pick up the slack behind you.

When Jannik steps out, Jan steps in and KWP covers around.
It allows us to be aggressive but to remain solid.
But it's vulnerable. Our shape is shifting constantly. More moving parts = more potential for error.
When confidence evaporates then old habits creep back in.

They sink back, they stop being aggressive, they stick with their man.
So when their teammates are expecting one thing, they do another.
Goals shatter confidence which shatters trust in the system. Some playing are playing it, others are panicking.

And for that I put most of the blame on the players rather than Ralph.
Maybe he could be more flexible but ultimately its the players that routinely fold like a pack of cards when things start to go wrong.
Seems to be no organisation in these moments, no leadership on the pitch
