#StopCETA is about protection of workers rights, ecological justice, green new deals, the further encroachment of corporate power in capturing democratic processes of the state and political parties aligning closer to corporations over democratic demands of population.
Case One: France and Vermilion.

Fossil fuel companies threatened to sue the French state because it planned to introduce much needed regulations and laws to tackle the climate crisis.

The state caved in to these corporate threats and watered down its proposals.

#StopCETA
Case Two: Bilcon v Canada

"The ISDS tribunal decided that the government’s decision hindered the investors’
expectations. Bilcon won and received US$7 million in damages, plus interest"

Companies can sue on *investors' expectations*

What worker has such rights?

#StopCETA
Case Three. Canada v Lone Pine?

"Lone Pine is suing
the Canadian gov for *future profits it had hoped to make*"

We can't sue corporations for the damage they knowingly cause to our planetary living system.

CETA is immoral, illogical, anti-science and deeply unjust

#StopCETA
It's ino coincidence that at the v moment we need robust transnational models of cooperation, complimenting much more decentralised & democratic control over energy production, in order to deal with the climate crisis in all its dimensions, corporate power wants CETA.
