I find it very manipulative that our angry side is always seen as our “true colours.” As if when I’m happy and being kind; I’m being fake. All the good that we are and we’re just reduced to our angry days or episodes?
Imagine Jesus being reduced to His angry moment at the temple when lashing out at tax collectors over all that He did in His ministry? How manipulative!
Anger is a part of our consciousness that alarms us of mistreatment and abuse. It’s your brain telling you to not accept this treatment. Anger serves as an alarm to a dysfunctional environment.
Yes, there’s weaponized anger that is used to hurt others. I’m not talking about that here. I’m talking about your brain fighting you telling you to protect yourself thus you’d react out of character because buried traumas were awakened.
