FFC thread of thoughts.

From a performance POV I was pretty happy watching the game. Unsure what game others are watching but we were in control for large parts, sharp, comfortable & created best chances to win the match. RLC & Reed our best players running it through middle.
From a coaching POV there can be no arguments really. Some of the football and moves we pull off are as good as anyone at this level. Lots of our good chances start from Areola. We are a good side in that respect. When you create the chances you are relying on players to deliver.
Now the conundrum...game management. I think Scots starting side was ok tbh. I would have pulled the trigger on subs probably 10 minutes earlier but I can see what he’s trying to do. We actually looked open once the subs were made but acknowledge we need to twist sooner or later.
Parker is dammed if he does and dammed if he don’t at the minute. So although I’ve acknowledged subs could have been earlier we still had the chances to win it with strikers on the pitch & still failed to hit bloody target. He has some very blunt tools to work with at this level.
There are some players underperforming in the attacking department we all thought was going to make a difference - Lookman isn’t doing anything near what we need ATM. We need him to produce from here...somehow. He’s the key to unlocking defences and just isn’t doing it.
Robinson on the other side (& I’ve praised him a fair bit on here) but his crossing is absolutely atrocious. For someone who gets up and down the pitch as well as him we need him to concentrate on his crossing more than anyone else. Our crossing must be the worse in the league.
Overall not much to ‘fix’ but key things to fix. We are the nearly men as SKY put it. I wonder if there’s been a bottom 3 side this good this far away from safety before? Absolutely devastating from a fans POV. Lots of good things about us but not the most important thing sadly.
