I seemed to have stepped in a hive of know-nothing idjits who think only wealthy people hunt. Please. I grew up rural. Wealthy folks go to a managed game ranch. Other folks head to family or public land and spot/stalk wild animals to fill freezers.
I’ve watched people do this every hunting season I can remember. I’ve also defrosted countless bits of deer, elk, antelope, pig, turkey, dove, and quail, and cooked them.
I get you’re all PETA’d up or whatever and think livestock produces cheaper protein, but you’re wrong. You can feed a family on 2-3 deer for a YEAR given reasonable portions. Using existing rifles and common ammo that’s a few days’ work and $20 to fill your freezer.
Hunters who don’t need the meat also donate their kills to food banks. Hunting feeds people. It’s not all about trophies. If you don’t like guns or hunting, fine, no one is gonna force you to do either. But don’t pretend like “gun control” isn’t a a socioeconomic issue.
Plenty of poor, working class, and rural folks need guns for reasons you can’t fathom. Saying the issue is easy or no one needs a gun from your high rise condo in a major urban area is ignorant, classist, and privileged.
