If you have a problem with laws limiting families to one child, you should also have a problem with how expensive having a child in the US has become so as to prevent having even one child.

Rising inequality is a problem, not something to celebrate as a human population reducer.
There is a difference between paying people to have kids and removing the barriers to being able to afford kids that decades of the rich stealing virtually all productivity growth for themselves have created.

A child allowance removes barriers that rising inequality has erected.
Our environmental problems don't exist because the human population doubled over the past half century. We could have shifted to carbon-free energy decades ago. We just keep refusing to more equitably share what humanity is inventing together, and we let the rich control policy.
