Thirumittakode Anchumoorthi Kshetram is one of the 108 Shiva Temples, where Prathista was done by Parashurama and this is also one among 108 Divya Deshams of Maha Vishnu.
Maha Vishnu is worshipped here as Uyyavanda Perumal.
There are 5 Vigrahams in this Temple and thus the name Anchumoorthi (meaning 5) temple.
One Shiva Linga and 4 Mahavishnu Vigrahams. It is believed that Mahavishnu Prathishta was done by Pancha Pandavas.

Nakula and Sahadeva jointly did 1 Prathishta while Arjuna, Yudhistira and Bheema one Vigraham each. The Vigraham inside Garba Griham is believed to be made by Arjuna. It is said that Ambareeksha King got Moksha in this Temple. Maha Vishnu came here to bless Ambareesha.
