Nakula and Sahadeva jointly did 1 Prathishta while Arjuna, Yudhistira and Bheema one Vigraham each. The Vigraham inside Garba Griham is believed to be made by Arjuna. It is said that Ambareeksha King got Moksha in this Temple. Maha Vishnu came here to bless Ambareesha.
Story of Shiva Lingam says that, Paramashiva gave darshan to a sage who came back from Kashi. He found a Shivalinga near this place and thus Prathishta was done by Parashurama. Temple is situated on the banks of River Bharathapuzha.
