When it comes to businesses, Canada’s pandemic guidebooks tell businesses to prepare contingency plans to deal with workforce disruption due to employee illness. They don’t call for widespread closures.
“Never send healthy people home,” says Lt. Col. David Redman, the former head of Alberta’s emergency management system. “That’s a ridiculous concept.”
It’s maddening to read these plans and be reminded that things didn’t need to get as messed up as they did.
