Non-disabled Canadians I need a minute of your time.

If #BillC7 passes as it is expected to, it will be a crushing. And I am worried. I need you to reach in and support the disabled people in your lives.
I think in the long run if #BillC7 passes it will lead to a level of anger and activism this country has never seen from disabled people.

But I am deeply worried about the immediate impact.
I don't think non-disabled Canada grasps what is happening right now.

This is a vote on whether we are people.
This is a vote on whether we have a right to life not whether we have a right to die.

#BillC7
This vote is a moment in history that can never be undone, even if some day in the future the legislation (if it passes) is overturned by a court challenge.

This vote will be seared into the souls of disabled people in Canada.

#BillC7
So I have one more question for you non-disabled Canada.

Have you done everything possible to #KillBillC7?
Will you be able to say you did everything you could to stop it? Because we won't be accepting apologies. And we don't need your tears at our funerals.
We need you NOW!
Someone from a locked account has added an important point. This will be an international precedent. Canada's soft power exporting of euthanasia will be added to the serving as a model for Apartheid SA and Nazi eugenics.
From another crip: "i think the global impact is also important for non disabled ppl here and elsewhere to reckon with. this will be used as precedent (as canada already is and has been in aus iirc). non disabled canadians need to learn the scale of harm being done."
