(Scripture cited from ESV):

1/8
โด I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus,
โต that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledgeโ€”
โถ even as the testimony about Christ was ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ข๐ซ๐ฆ๐ž๐ among youโ€”

(1 Cor 1:4-6)

2/8
The word translated "confirmed" here in v. 6 is ฮฒฮตฮฒฮฑฮนฯŒฯ‰ (๐‘๐‘’๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘–๐‘œฬ๐‘œฬ„): "confirm," "establish," "make sure." It's the same verb Paul uses to tell us that Christ came to "confirm" the promises made to the patriarchs (Rom 15:7).

3/8
It's also the word he uses to tell the Corinthians that God "establishe[d]" his ministry among them (2 Cor 1:21). In Classical Greek it was used to denote making good on one's word or the guaranteeing of the validity of a purchase (LSJM) & express to certainty (BrillDAG).

4/8
So, as far as Paul was concerned, there could be no doubt whatsoever about the Gospel that the Corinthians received. It was guaranteed as certain.

He goes on:

5/8
โท so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
โธ who will ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง [KJV, NASB: ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ข๐ซ๐ฆ; NIV: ๐ค๐ž๐ž๐ฉ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ซ๐ฆ] you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(1 Cor 1:7-8)

6/8
The word translated "sustain" by the ESV here in v. 8 is the same verb (ฮฒฮตฮฒฮฑฮนฯŒฯ‰/๐‘๐‘’๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘–๐‘œฬ๐‘œฬ„) he used in v. 6 to express the certainty of the truth of his testimony about Christ.

7/8
For Paul, the fact that God would sustain them in their righteous standing before Him (i.e., justification) until Christ returned was as established and guaranteed as the Gospel message itself.
