YBOR CROWDS | a neighbor shared this video showing an “ocean of people” on 7th Avenue Friday night. While much attention has been placed downtown, Ybor business owners say the response by @CityofTampa to curb crowds is unacceptable.

Tom DeGeorge, owner of The Crowbar, has long called for better enforcement of clubs in Ybor. “I can’t sugarcoat the problems we’re having right now. We need help.” I asked him where does the buck stop, here’s what he said:

Here’s a response from @TampaPD regarding last night:
Qvesoir’s public Instagram page says #KodakBlack performed last night. President Trump pardoned Kodak Black during his final hours in office. @abcactionnews
Also note, there was a shooting five blocks south of where this crowd gathered. TPD has not said if the robbery/shooting stemmed from the large group on 7th Ave. @abcactionnews
A spokesperson for the police union tells me this is exactly why they wrote a letter warning about uncontrollable crowds and officer healthy and safety. I reported on that letter last night:
