random take from me at midnight but i truly believe that normalizing radical feminism as a trans inclusive movement is the key to combatting the terf problem
i think a lot of people become radicalized by terfs because queer feminism has failed them. queer online feminism is pro porn, pro prostitution, pro choice feminism, does not prioritize issues like abortion, in general does not see women as a class and is very anti woman
it is incredibly frustrating to exist in these circles, it’s basically people who call themselves feminist but don’t really give a fuck about womens issues. they also tend to target women online and it’s just Euw
if you then carry that frustration, and you are not aware of the tactics terfs use, they will lure you in by saying
”WE CARE about all these things! the reason queer feminism has failed you is because TRANS PEOPLE!”
”WE CARE about all these things! the reason queer feminism has failed you is because TRANS PEOPLE!”
i seriously believe the only way we can stop this is if we reclaim radical feminism.
radical feminism has never been inherently transphobic and by acting like radical feminist theories and writers can’t be used because there are radical feminists that are transphobic, we are just saying ”only transphobes care about these issues”
this happens all the time. i have been told several times not to talk about sex work and porn the way i do because that is ”terf rethoric”, even tho i haven’t even mentioned trans people.
you are making these very important issues into something that only belongs to terfs. naturally people will then gravitate towards those places if they care about those issues.
