CAPITOL SETUP THREAD: Today we learned that Congressional Democrats called on law enforcement to stand down on January 6th despite the knowledge that agent provocateurs planned to use the peaceful protest as cover for an attack on the Capitol. Just how vulnerable was the Capitol?

2/ When Dr. King called for his march around 250,000 Americans joined him in the capital and DC was prepared with 34,400 police/troops on hand to ensure violence did not erupt. More than 500,000 Americans joined Trump in DC and fewer than 2,800 police/troops were on hand.

3/ Despite drawing a crowd twice as large as Dr. King did in 1963 authorities in DC had less than 10% of the number of available police/troops to secure the peace. 4/ After 500,000 peaceful protesters went home and 55 people were arrested on the 6th Speaker Pelosi called up almost 30,000 National Guard to protect the Capitol from a non-threat. Today she's keeping thousands of troops on hand as a political backdrop to her impeachment farse.
