There really is a need for religious literacy in the media, especially in the use of terminology.

Women have been core in the development for entire schools of thought in the Islamic tradition.

They've been head teachers and founders of teaching institutions (Fatima al Fihri), government advisors (Nana Asma'u) etc & that’s just to name a few...
Of course there is still so much more to be done to further women’s leadership in UK Muslim spaces.

Watching this frustrated me beyond belief, but the manner in which @ZaraM01 handled herself was admirable - we’re lucky to be represented by her.

Producers and journalists need to do better, instead of framing their interviews to get these ‘clickbait clips’.
