-india is a diverse country full of diverse cultures, religions, languages, states, etc.
-there are 22 official languages (maybe even more languages that aren't official), hindi is a common language but not everyone speaks it
-south indians and north indians have different cultures and different cuisines
-religions:
while hinduism is a dominant religion, not all indians are hindus, indians can be of any religion.
-curry is not the only indian food
-avoid stereotypes of indians being good at math and science.
-sarees are not the only indian dresses. there are other types too
-indians come in variety of skin color, we can be brown, light brown, dark brown, etc.
-avoid the stereotypes of indians being cab drivers
-north indians and south indians have different cultures, and the cultures also vary from state to state
-indian languages:
bengali, hindi, telugu, tamil, kannada, urdu, nepalese, sanskrit, marathi, oriya, manipur, bodo, gujarati, punjabi, sindhi, kashmiri, dogri, assamese, santali, malayalam, konkana
-the indian diaspora

-do research on where your character is from and the holidays they might celebrate, also indians that don't live in india, will often find other indians, like where i live, the indian community is huge, and i live in a neighborhood full of other indians.
-also don't forget about the racism that indians experience, indians will get made full of for how we smell, how we dress, our culture, stereotypes, and more.
-hinduism
-hinduism is a polytheistic religion but it's not tied down to any rules and everyone practices it differently
