Unpopular opinion: all state legislators should be paid better and be on the job year-round. They should also have at least a small staff.
As more people see and interact with this I'd ask you to remember you're talking to real life people and this is not actually anybody's priority right now. No reason to be rude about this.
More than 200 ppl have left their thoughts here. Some have been more constructive than others lol. 2 things:
1. Policy students list many benefits
2. Many others think legislators are bad and/or spoiled and point out that this idea won't fix that

Again, don't get upset at strangers online over this, BUT if you actually care about the issue, try to find the best argument of people that disagree with you before dismissing their perspective out of hand.
Specifically looking at my fellow policy students. Yes this is a good idea, but I didn't call it an unpopular opinion for no reason. Don't let the RTs fool you. Ppl HATE this idea, but the *reasons* they hate it give valuable insights to how we should approach the conversation.
