2018 - Coldplay members file for 4 new trademarks; Music of the Spheres, Car Kids, Viva Deportes & Los Unidades, all listing similar purposes. The group later unveiled and released a collaborative EP with Global Citizen under the name Los Unidades. MOTS was put on hold.
December 2018 - Coldplay manager Dave Holmes suggests the band may not be back on a world tour until 2021 at the earliest in an interview. “We need to take a break and come back with something really special.”

October 2019 - The Daily Star reports Coldplay are to make a sensational comeback with 2 new albums, one would be low key and released in November 2019, the other, more traditional/mainstream, to arrive the following year. http://bit.ly/35eLhrH 
October 2019 - Orphans & Arabesque are released as the first singles from Everyday Life. During interviews, Chris Martin says they were thinking about saving Orphans for "the next thing we're doing"
November 2019 - In a track-by-track review with Apple Music, Chris Martin reveals that Everyday Life's album opener 'Sunrise' was a piano demo originally intended for another album. Martin also re-affirms the Orphans was also intended for another album.
November 2019 - Physical copies of #EverydayLife land in the hands of fans who notice a mysterious page in the middle of the booklet, citing Music of the Spheres.

Other notables from the booklet include 'FFTF2024' number plate and 'Coldplay coming soon' on the billboard

November 2019 - Fans uncover link between MOTS & Cry Cry Cry. In the song, Martin talks about a book of Luminous Things, said book contains a poem with a recognizable title on page 7. Chris would later mention we'll be hearing more of 'Angelina' in future (the voice at the start)
December 2019 - In an interview with Virgin Radio, Chris & Jonny are asked by hosts to comment on the mysterious poster from the booklet. Chris says it means something but he's not sure if anyone has worked it out just yet... (segment ~9 min)
January 2020 - Ellen asks if critics are right in saying #EverydayLife is one of their best albums. Jonny agrees, Chris says he 'always thinks the next one will be the best one' - hinting at a future release... (segment ~4mins)
February 2020 - Coldplay release the music video for Champion of the World, ending with the band performing their music on-top of spacial spheres. Fans link the ending as a reference to Music of the Spheres.
March 2020 - COVID-19 becomes an International Pandemic + public health crisis. Chris takes to Instagram to perform an acoustic set of Coldplay classics. During the stream Chris blurts; "We have a new song, that I'm not supposed to talk about, so I won't 😄" leaving fans curious.
During the IG livestreams, Chris lets slip there is a new song called UFO (different to original). Us Against The World had recently been 'finished' - initially released almost 10 years ago. And the title Rescue St, an old MX demo, was spotted on a guitar beside his piano.
July 2020 - Coldplay are spotted at a recording studio in Stockholm, Sweden along with producer Max Martin. Max Martin famously worked on Orphans an Champion of the World from #EverydayLife
Summer 2020 - Guy Berryman has a flux of interviews about his fashion brand and car magazines, but Coldplay questions often slipped in.
September 2020 - Top music industry outlets in the UK and Australia reaffirm Coldplay's interest in releasing a 9th studio album. The outlets state a release could arrive before March 2021, citing Parlophone exec's previous comments on the swift follow-up to #EverydayLife
October 2020 - Coldplay are reunited together and spend time recording at a music studio in Germany. The band complete their studio time with an IG live stream; encouraging US citizens to vote in the 2020 Election.
Q4 2020 - Guy Berryman's instagram page starts to flood with surreal cosmic artwork out of the blue. Fans begin to speculate, linking the art as inspiration to Music of the Spheres.
December 2020 - Coldplay reconvene in London for another collaborative recording session. Guy Berryman shares snaps of London and the studio, while all band member's signature was found on a newly released Christmas Lights vinyl from London.
December 2020 - While together in London, the band push their pursuit of the legal trademark for Music Of The Spheres by submitting a fresh request to the UK Govt's Intellectual Property Office.
February 2021 - The band reach a breakthrough in their attempts to trademark Music Of The Spheres. The trademark would allow them to use the phrase to sell music, video, clothing, books, stationary, live entertainment services and more https://bit.ly/2MxZUSN 
Thoughts: It's very likely 'Music of the Spheres' will title LP9. Plenty of evidence to support a release on the horizon. However, albums don't need trademarks
