The thing about using Mutants as an allegory for race or queerness is it quickly reveals how little people understand how marginalization/oppression works.

Mutants are not dangerous. The world around them being incapable and unwilling to adapt to their needs is the real danger.
This is why I find stories of Genosha more interesting and want it explored by disabled creators specifically. Because I think they have a better understanding of what it could be like to create a place/community that actively accommodates and nurtures Mutants.
I want the equivalent of domestic fic about Magneto leading adult Mutants in how to construct living spaces and environments to accessible to Mutants whatever their needs. Where he would see had that their very mutations enable them to best help and support each other.
Where mutants with visible differences get to just exists without scrutiny or othering. Magneto not just accepting, but appreciating Mystiques natural form is one of my favorites arts of First Class that’s criminally unexplored by the movies.
