One of the problems is that there aren’t enough Asian-Americans in the media. The theme of 2020’s @aaja convention was VISIBILITY...and that clearly speaks
for the #AsianAmerican community too: fighting to be heard, to be seen, to be included. Having a token Asian is not enough. I also know many Asian-American journalists push for these types of stories, only to be told no or overlooked.
And so this video by @nguyen_amanda is another reason why #representation matters so much - not just on our TVs, but also in newsrooms, in Hollywood production, behind-the-scenes, in managers offices, in corporate leadership.
