The coverage of the leaked White Paper on NHS structures/reorganisation seems to assume that the Lansley 2012 reforms are still in place. Up to a point, Lord Copper. In reality, the current NHS is miles away from the 2012 blueprint, thankfully... BUT 1/2
..while the proposals are in part just a legislative catchup with the facts on the ground, they are also an attempt to go well beyond that - centralisation on steroids, control of FTs, and half baked ideas on the future for ICSs. And nothing on the REAL big problem... 2/3
...which is a sustainable financial settlement for health AND social care, but especially for social care. Sigh - just because you can redisorganise, doesn't mean you should. Just because Something Needs to be Done, and this is Something, does not make it a good idea. END.
