Just finished watching the #ship30for30 office hour with @JanelSGM & @dickiebush.

Here are a few quick takeaways about Twitter & newsletter growth.

THREAD
1. The 10:1 ratio

Give 10 times as much as you ask.

Congratulate, share, answer questions. Be helpful. Save people time.
2. Look for cross-promotions once you reach a subscriber level of around 200.

---

I tried this now already but it's not successful. With around 30 subscribers, the chances of someone clicking a link and signing up as well are pretty low.
3. Use Twitter threads to promote your newsletter. Give the spark notes

---

I've been doing this since the beginning! https://twitter.com/topthreeguide/status/1331957416221679619?s=20
4. In your newsletter, double down on the content that gets more clicks.
5. "Have your own landing page separate from your email platform provider. That way, if you change providers you don't need to create one from scratch."
6. Automate as much as possible to make your life easier.

Thanks to @JanelSGM I started using @publer to schedule tweets.

And don't write threads in the Twitter app because it can't be saved as a draft.

I'm doing exactly this. It's going to be the last time. I promise.
7. Share what you like.

Add value to it by giving your takeaways or by summarising.
Hoping to learn a lot more from being part of the next Ship30for30 cohort.

This video was a promising start!
Personal note: making threads while I am listening to something helps me focus.

It means I have to listen attentively and I can't get distracted by my phone or other tabs.

If you struggle to stay focused. Take extensive notes while listening to something you want to learn from.
Finally, I've been following @JanelSGM for a while.

Check out her profile and subscribe for her newsletter BrainPrint. It's worth it.

If you're more into productivity and writing.
Read my newsletter, which you can find in my pinned tweet.

Hope you learned something
