the giant trees, hallucigenia and primarily, why the hell is everything so big? + norse mythology

[a theory thread]
disclaimer: i’m not that big brained and this thread is lowkey a mess, but i still want to share my thoughts.
first of all, we need to discuss the forest of giant trees. it’s basically a forest of trees that grow to around 80 meters and they occur exclusively on paradis. it was first introduced in season 1 where it was used as a protection during SC expeditions.
we know nothing about its origins, why they grow so tall and why they can only be found on paradis. however, we can see that there was at least 1 that was present 2000 years ago already. ymir fritz fell into it and this is where things get weird and complicated.
as you can see above, when ymir starts falling, everything blends deep into the water and she reaches the floating spine. thanks to the new leaks we can clearly see that it’s actually a hallucigenia. an extinct organism that is an early ancestor of many living forms.
in aot, it is referenced as the source of all organic matter and it is also the origin of the titan power. it also explains why the founding titan has those weird legs just like hallucigenia
however, why was it casually floating in a gigantic tree? well, first of all, real-life hallucigenia is 5cm. but looking at its size next to ymir, it appears to be much bigger. assuming that she was 140-150cm, we can say that aot hallucigenia is around 100cm.
okay, so quick maths. it’s not THAT relevant tho

100cm (aot hallucigenia) ÷ 5cm (real-life hallucigenia) = 20

it shows us that the scale is 20:1. out of curiosity, i went to see the scale of giant trees with average ones.

80m (giant tree) ÷ 4m (average tree) = 20... also 20:1
everything coming out of that giant tree and the tree itself seems to be larger by 20 times. perhaps, that giant tree is the bridge between paradis and another world/realm where everything is gigantic. it would also explain where and why ymir got the titan power.
what further proves my theory is aot’s inspiration by norse mythology. many of you probably know about yggdrasil. it is said to be a tree that connects the nine worlds and pretty much everything in existence. it is very similar to the concept of paths that connects all eldians+
+and the 9 titans. it could be that the tree which ymir fell into, was actually yggdrasil itself or its part.

one of the nine worlds that is connected to yggdrasil is jotunheim. it’s a realm associated with giants.
and as i said before, my speculation is that the tree ymir fell into is connected to a realm where everything is enlarged by 20 times (parallel to jotunheim) and she got the titan power by having a direct contact with a gigantic organism living there.
this is more of a loose connection, but underneath the yggdrasil, there is a river Ifing that separates Jotunheim and Asgard (the realm of gods). it could be that ymir fell there (but from the opposite side) since she was seen falling deep into the water.
another loose speculation that could justify why there are actual forests of new 80-meter trees on paradis is because through falling into the tree and gaining the titan power, Ymir opened a connection between Paradis and Jotunheim. +
therefore, paradis gained some gigantic qualities such as growing those large trees. it’s a bit of a stretch but it could be that the gigantic trees from Jotunheim are so large that they go through Paradis’ surface
as i said, my thread is kind of a mess and i’m not sure if it’s comprehensible, but i just wanted to share some connections that i found. feel free to discuss it further ??
so looking through twitter i just found this. the shape of the tree resembles two giants supporting it. once again, it might be a reference to the realm similar to jotunheim that is under the tree as those titans look like they are appearing from underneath the surface
