It's gonna be a new type of exhausting to deal with the Right in the United States government now.

The GOP flash-forged itself in the shape of Trump but now that he's out of office they're like an empty suit of armor no normal human can wear.

Expect the populist BS to intensify

Marjorie Greene was one of the clearest symptoms of their total embrace of Rubbermaid values.

The GOP has long played that old-time Revival-style game of demagoguery, but their culture of flexible reality has now become THE pillar of the party. They can't control their zombies.

We are dealing with a demographic so intentionally poisoned against rational thought and even basic consensus reality that they can believe anything, and can gin each other up into actual treason and domestic terrorism *without direction from the party*

They're rogue fanatics.

Desperate for a master, yet obsessed with their fundamentally incorrect notion of freedom, they are united in defense of American exceptionalism and a certainty that they are both the moral and literal majority and also the embodiment of the plucky, heroic underdog.

This sucks.

These people were already almost impermeable to sensibility, but they have been sealing themselves up in a smooth, white shell of autology like some kind of freaky pack of Benjamin Button birds.

The GOP can't control it, and now their base is electing the worst among themselves.

We're gonna see more completely unqualified, batshit folks who are more into creating content for their fans than any semblance of governance, and that is 100% the GOP's fault. They intentionally fostered that culture without a thought about what it could do when off the leash.

Currently, the GOP are –nearly to a person– running damage control among their own and whining about being giant losers full of sad-sauce, but they haven't stopped encouraging the culture of nonsense in their base.
