reasons why smp! quackity isn’t just a cruel character:
-before starting this thread, i acknowledge the fact that he was cruel with his intentions to techno from the beginning, meaning from the revolution. i just wanna preface this before techno stans come for me (im one too dw)

-since people dislike him from the point of the butler army, i would like to riddle you what he said when he had his civil conversation with ranboo. i don’t think a lot of people saw from quackity’s pov but reading aftee ranboo’s memory made him realize a couple of things.
-one: dream being in power. two: how disorganized everyone is to be able
to see point one. when he read that point on the memory book, he dropped what he was doing altogether at the realization that he was going about things poorly. he acknowledged that during his talk w/ ranboo

-he mentioned that he had to act for the administration that he was in. for schlatt, for tubbo. regardless of how wrong they were, he has always been self-aware that he’s always on the losing side, and yet, he’s the only one who always tries by all means, he had to.
he acknowledged that he tried everything to ranboo. he acknowledged brute force (ref to the butcher army), talking over the decision to exile tommy (expressing dissent after tubbo’s decision), playing the picture perfect vice president. he played pacifist, neutral (now) & chaotic
& i admit it’s exasperating that it took reading the memory book to get him to his senses but at least he knew he had to ENTIRELY change his approach again. what does he do? he tries to compromise, tries to unite everyone to defeat dream (something that punz accomplished)
but quackity essentially wanted the same thing. now that it’s achieved, his confrontation with bad regarding the egg made sense. when they argued, quackity wanted to control the egg w/o the repercussions of mind control, something that aligns with tommy’s ideals in a way
he doesn’t want to lose his free will, not anymore after having to always fight for someone else’s battles, that’s the last thing he wants. so when he told bbh to think about the land and unaffected open space +
he wanted bbh to think over how it isn’t worth it sacrificing your free will for power, something that he’s familiar with since schlatt joined. but now wanting things to chance, i’m excited for his character’s return on the smp since he’d be returning soon w/ big plans :]
