Today I'd like to show the various gymnastics and u-turns and learnings around those preaching hate towards the recent therian/otherkin/zoo discourse. I don't begrudge people learning and changing, but I will call out hypocrisy and double standards when I see them.
Case 1 - 'Zoos don't belong in the otherkin community' - for otherkin I'm going to also read therian, given that the therian community was the one under discussion
'I am genuinely afraid of active zoos' - the problem here is the conflation between zoophiles (just thoughts and attractions), practising zoophiles (a whole different debate), and animal abusers. Conflate all three and you condemn innocents and give a free pass to abusers.
'I am very intolerant of zoophilia' often becomes a shield for 'I have no problem abusing people for a thought crime'. In this case though they're reluctantly giving gfox a free pass, when all gfox ever preached was love and acceptance.
'I admit that I was wrong about your community as a whole, but I need you to grasp that the word [zoophilia] scares people.'

This is noble of them to admit, and good progress. From 'zoos don't belong in the [...] community' to 'I was wrong and here's why I panicked'.
The stigmatisation and marginalisation and hate towards a minority costs lives. I commend the path of P0lyb1uz towards further acceptance and will be watching to see if they learn, grow, distinguish thought from acts, and stick with and support their zoophile friend and community
