Frontal discharges are a form of focal discharges in CSSS. Many frontal SWs have preceding occipital spike (both negative) with an apparent positivity in centroparietal discharges. These are occipitofrontal discharges 1/3
I do believe all these frontal discharges are propagated from the occipital region but only some have a surface EEG detectable occipital discharges. Children with occipitofrontal discharges often have Panayiotopoulos syndrome features 2/3
Just like centrotemporal these may occur incidentally in children or in those with rolandic epilepsy phenotype. Prognosis is as good as ‘ ECTS’ type as much as we know.
