George is 3 years old, a friendly boy who likes to interact & will come to you for attention. He is happy being outside & spends a lot of time out but loves his home comforts as well, but please read whole thread as he does need an owner to work with him through one issue.
George was unfortunately taught/encouraged to play rough with people by his original owner. This is not his fault but as a result he can be sitting on your lap & happily being stroked & suddenly bite & grab your arm.
George does NOT show any aggression towards other cats in the neighbourhood, so he isn’t an aggressive cat just a cat thats been taught the wrong behaviour with humans & his current owner has made progress in retraining him but is sadly due to circumstances unable to keep him
Our behaviourist thinks George may also be under stimulated & displaying a level of misdirected predatory aggression or frustration related aggression which was probably exacerbated by his first owner reinforcing such behaviours.
Any new owner would need to ensure he has lots of access to toys & enrichment feeders & plenty of stimulation.
It may be that you will need to engage the services of a good behaviourist, ours are happy to give you general advice on different behaviours but without seeing the cat will not be able to be more specific
George is still in his home for the moment while awaiting his new home as we feel a pen environment would not be good for him. Please contact us in the first instance if you are interested in offering George a home.
