Always fun to see everyone assume govt can ‘kill’ a business whenever the regulatory uncertainty creeps in. It is annoying but I’ve seen good founders innovate around the bad government time and again.
Of course no one wants to poke the bear again so they keep it low. Case in point at Andela when government came asking for our monotheic license to train developers we simply paid the fellows and made them staff.
It made our model seem a bit crazy - ‘ we pay fellows to learn’ but it ended up building us a solid talent pipeline and brand.
The governance question will ultimately need to be resolved but at the end of the day, the reality Is that if armed struggle is not an option, the only way to escape bad governance is to innovate. :)
